KoshiTappu Wildlife Reserve

The biggest wetland of Nepal which is abode of transitory birds and one of the best place for bird waching.

Koshi Tappu is the biggest wetland of Nepal created by the great Saptakoshi River in the eastern part of Nepal. This place is known as the heaven of transitory birds and provides shelter for more than 450 species. The forest and wetland vegetation of this wetland are known for the habitat of Wild Buffalo (bubalus arnee) locally known as "Arna". The wetland provides livelyhood for more than half milllion people of Saptari, Udayapur and Sunasari districts of Nepal. The place is one of the measure tourists area for bird watching.
